Flatbush Students Paticipate in the VEI 2016 NYC Trade Show
Yeshivah of Flatbush students
ventured to the 69th Regiment Armory in midtown Manhattan to
participate in the Virtual Enterprise International 2016 New York City Trade
Show. The students were a part of our Virtual Enterprise class and have
been working all year to create, manage and market their virtual business
Tcorporation, a financial management and advisement company. Students have been
involved in every aspect of running their virtual business including putting
together business and marketing plans, completing financial reports, developing
webpages and marketing campaigns, and managing sales and interactions with
other virtual enterprise firms.
The Trade Show was an opportunity for students to sell
their products and personally interact with other Virtual Enterprise firms from
throughout New York City, the United States, and the World. Yeshivah of
Flatbush students created their own booth promotional material and newsletters
explaining both long term and short term market trends and explaining various
retirement accounts including 401K and Roth IRA accounts. The young entrepreneurs were able to
successfully demonstrate their knowledge of the financial industry to other
students and industry professionals and business experts that came to see the
event and learn about the virtual companies. The students enjoyed themselves,
learned a great deal, demonstrated their knowledge of the financial industry,
and made important connections with the business leaders.

National Honor Society Induction Exercises 2016
On Friday, June 3rd Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School honored students for their academic excellence in the annual National Honors Society Induction Exercises. This year, senior Stephanie Dweck was awarded the Ahavat Yisrael Award in honor of Rabbi Amnon and Mrs. Dinah Haramati. The NHS program is a great way for us to recognize the hard work and effort our students put in over their years of high school to succeed academically.

Evening of the Arts 2016
Art is defined as 'the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance'. And all the faces of art were certainly on display when Yeshivah of Flatbush held it's annual Evening of the Arts, on Thursday, May 26th. This special night celebrated the many talented teachers in our Arts Department--and their many talented students.
The overflowing crowd who attended were treated to museum-quality visual art in galleries that stretched from the sub-basement to the lobby to the Beit Midrash. Paintings, sculptures, photography, graphic design and so much more adorned our building.
In addition to those displays, the talents of the performing arts divisions were on full display in a 90 minutes showcase of our best--both students and teachers; there were singers, actors, and musicians who performed with passion and amazing skill. Each act had the audience thinking 'it can't get better than this'---and then it did.
All in all, this was an evening that celebrates one of the most special aspects of the Yeshivah of Flatbush; our commitment to instilling a love for theater, music, and art in our students. ~Ms. Shelley Kaplowitz
