Students from Yeshivah of Flatbush attended Rambam's fourth annual Jewish poetry slam competition, last week, on October 22, 2013. Each poet was required to write a poem that abided by two different themes. The first was a poem around a Billy Collins style poem and the second was a poem that was written in reaction to a series of paintings that were created by the Jewish Artist League. We had three student-poets, Aliza Kantarowiz, Fanya Donin, and Joy Feinberg attend the slam. We would like to specifically congratulate Aliza Kantarowitz who was awarded the Runner-Up to Poet of the Day. We look forward to hosting the next slam right here at Yeshivah of Flatbush on November 21st. Please see Aliza Kantarowitz or Ms. Robinson if you'd like to participate.
