iPad Distribution
Welcome back everyone! Today two of our freshman classes received their iPads as part of our pilot iPad program. We are excited to try out new teaching and collaborative learning activities with our students! Read more about our iPad initiative here.

As part of the orientation process, students were briefed as to some of the exciting ways the iPad will be used as a learning tool in the Flatbush classrooms. They also reviewed the expectations, responsibilities, and policies that go along with the use of such cutting edge technology.
Thank you to Raymond Saka of Sakar Corporation for the donation of iPad accessories.

Pathfinders: Exploring the Performing Arts
Michael at a rehearsal at the Brooklyn Children's Theatre |
Michael Zalta, a Freshman in our Yeshivah, always had a passion for the performing arts. Through our Pathfinders Program he was able to pursue his interests to the fullest extent. With the help of our Pathfinders counselors, Michael applied for a performing role in the Brooklyn Children's Theatre in Park Slope. We are proud to say that Michael was accepted into the program. In just three weeks, he will be cutting a CD for iTunes and performing in an original play with BCT written by Scott Davis. Michael is truly exploring what the performing arts has to offer through this wonderful opportunity.
Beginning in 9th grade, the Pathfinders counselors work with each student to discuss their interests and develop their goals. Students are then given a wide range of opportunities of places where they can volunteer, intern and explore their unique academic pursuits and career ideas. Through the Yeshivah of Flatbush Pathfinders Program, we encourage our students to discover and expand their special talents and abilities and explore career options for the future. Whether a student is actively engaged during the school year or in the summer, we are confident that each Yeshivah of Flatbush student will find a path to success.

Pathfinders: Politics Internship
Sharon Grossman, a Junior at Yeshivah of Flatbush |
Sharon with Jon Huntsman, Republican presidential candidate |
Sharon Grossman, a Junior in our Yeshivah, signed up through our Pathfinders Program to pursue her interests in politics and journalism. This enabled her to work as an intern on the Republican campaign with Ari Zoldan, CEO of Quantum Networks. Recently, she has been working with a credentialed news agency to report about the New Hampshire Primary, where she was fortunate enough to meet some of the presidential candidates. Sharon is truly gaining insights into the world of politics, media and journalism by taking part in the real world experiences that our Pathfinders Program has to offer.
